Often, a 1.0.0 version signifies a stable, feature-complete release. However, in the case of Halalan, that is not true. We just felt it deserves the 1.0.0 version. Posted below are some notes to preempt frustrations.
- PostgreSQL support is temporarily gone. It will be re-added soon.
- The Filipino language file is incomplete.
- Pagination in voters and dowloading of its list is also temporarily gone. It will be re-added soon.
Please tell us any Halalan-related frustrations at halalan(at)googlegroups(dot)com. If you're not yet a member, you can join here.

The next release will look like the following with few minor adjustments if needed.
As part of the upcoming CS WEEK 2007, the UP Linux Users' Group will hold a demonstration of the Halalan Voting System. It will be held on February 19, 2007 (Monday) at the third floor lobby of the College of Engineering in UP Diliman starting at 9am.
Instead of a Burnfest, we will hold a demonstration on 3D Linux Desktops (xgl/compiz/beryl/aiglx) but we will still be giving away pre-burned Linux distributions. See you there!
After using Hypworks in its past releases, Halalan will now adapt Code Igniter as the framework for its PHP version and starting its next release, it will have an experimental Ruby on Rails version.
Halalan was successfully used in the University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) Department of Computer Science (DCS) Batch Representatives Elections for the school year 2007 – 2008. The election was held yesterday, September 5, 2007, at the Teaching Lab I of the College of Engineering Library and Computer Science building.
